Hi, my baby will be a year old this month, I have been suffering from prenatal depression since pregnancy, and got worse after giving birth, I had realy bad, I'm on klonopim for anxiety, if you suffered from postpartum depression, did you decide to have another kid? did you have depression then? I want to have one more, a little girl. But I am sooo scared to get pregnant again, because i'm afraid i will completely loose my mind. If i get pregnant i would like to but maybe ina year or two, so my kids can grow up together.

I had ppd and had another baby 7 years later and it was a totally different pregnancy. I would talk to your doctor.

Your are at an increased risk, but there are things you can do ahead of time to prevent it. Plan for help you need around the house during your pregnancy and the 1st few weeks before conception, make sure you are financially ready, and breastfeed(it release hormones that ward off depression). Get with a therapist you are comfy with. Hopefully, next time you will be more prepared.

I had PPD with all three kids, and it got worse each time. The GOOD thing is at least you are armed with knowledge, and if you decide to have another kid you can start depression medications right away and find the help and support you need to get through it.
